real estate Chartered in 1746, this town takes its name from Henry Pelham, Prime Minister of England, a relation of Governor Benning Wentworth, and younger brother of Thomas Pelham Holles. The town was originally a part of Old Dunstable, which was split when the New Hampshire-Massachusetts boundary line was changed in 1741.

Pelham opened their Skate Park in June of 2005, which features a 6 foot full half pipe, 8 foot 1/4 pipe, and a 7 foot vertical wall. Pelham teams up with Windham for the Pelham-Windham Razorbacks Pee Wee Football team. Pelham has an extensive recreation department which includes skiing, basketball, and soccer.

Pelham's school system includes Pelham Elementary School (grades R - 5), Pelham Memorial School (grades 6-8), and the Pelham High School.
